My name is R. Zayah Facey.

I was born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Jamaica. Those two worlds live inside me every day. The loudness of New York. The spirit of the Caribbean. The grit, the beauty, the struggle, the magic, the resilience. I carry all of it with me.

I am Black. I am queer. I am disabled. I am a creator, a designer, a diviner, and an ancestral practitioner. Before I was any of those things publicly, I was simply a child trying to understand a world that often felt too heavy and too complicated. I learned early that survival is an art form.

For most of my life, I have existed in spaces that were never really designed for people like me. Fashion rarely reflected bodies like mine. Media rarely reflected lives like mine. Even within communities that claimed inclusion, there were still boxes I was expected to fit into.

I never fit.

And eventually, I stopped trying.

HEXA NOIR was born from that refusal.

The name itself carries meaning. Hexa speaks to the sacred geometry of creation — structure, protection, transformation, and interconnectedness. Noir represents the beauty found in darkness — not darkness as something evil, but darkness as mystery, depth, wisdom, shadow, ancestry, and rebirth.

Together, HEXA NOIR became my declaration that Blackness, queerness, spirituality, grief, sensuality, softness, rage, healing, and beauty could all exist in the same space without apology.

The brand is heavily influenced by Black Cisgnosis — the lived, embodied wisdom of Black people navigating systems that were never built for us. It is the understanding that our knowledge does not only come from books and institutions. It comes from our grandmothers. Our ancestors. Our survival. Our communities. Our bodies. Our dreams. Our spiritual practices. The lessons carried through bloodlines and memory.

My grandmother and my mother are at the center of everything I create.

The women in my family taught me strength long before I understood the word. They taught me how to keep moving when life was unfair. How to laugh while carrying grief. How to create beauty in places where beauty seemed impossible.

My mother taught me that love and sacrifice often look ordinary while they are happening. You do not always realize the lessons until years later.

My grandmother taught me that faith is not passive. Faith is work. Faith is persistence. Faith is surviving what should have broken you.

Those lessons are woven into every collection.

The colors I choose are intentional. The contrast is intentional. The darkness is intentional. The luxury is intentional.

Because my life has never been one thing.

I have known illness. I have known loss. I have known poverty. I have known discrimination. I have known heartbreak. I have known the feeling of being invisible.

But I have also known beauty. I have known community. I have known love. I have known spiritual connection. I have known creativity powerful enough to keep me alive.

HEXA NOIR exists in that space between darkness and beauty.

That is why you will see gothic influences next to Caribbean influences. Witchcraft beside streetwear. Sacred symbols beside humor. Bold statements beside softness. Black alongside gold. Grief alongside joy.

That contradiction is not an accident.

That contradiction is me.

As a disabled entrepreneur, there are days when building this business requires more strength than people realize. There are days spent working from hospital beds. Days spent designing through pain. Days when my body demands rest while my dreams demand movement.

And yet I continue.

Not because it is easy.

Because it matters.

Representation matters. Seeing yourself matters. Feeling beautiful matters. Feeling powerful matters. Feeling seen matters.

When someone wears HEXA NOIR, I want them to feel like they belong exactly as they are.

Not after they lose weight. Not after they become more acceptable. Not after they become less queer. Not after they become less Black. Not after they become less themselves.

Now. Exactly now.

HEXA NOIR is for the outsiders, the healers, the rebels, the artists, the dreamers, the weird kids who grew up and refused to shrink themselves.

It is for those carrying generations behind them and generations ahead of them.

It is for people who understand that survival itself can be a form of beauty.

This brand is not just fashion.

It is memory. It is ancestry. It is resistance. It is healing. It is art.

And it is my love letter to every person who has ever been told they were too much.

Because I learned something important:
